Welcome to Grade 4A's blog for 2014. Here you will find student work samples, student posts on different topics, links to popular learning websites as well as other news about what we are learning about in school. I hope that this space, along with the integration of iPads as an educational tool, helps 4A students to enhance their skills and thinking in order to become Smart, Safe and Responsible users of technology in this digital age. Hopefully it will also allow students to further share their learning journey with families at home. Enjoy!

How are we going ?

Dear 4A,

I'd like to get an idea of how you are settling into grade 4 so far. Please use your red hat to let me know how you are feeling at this stage. I'd also like to know what you think are the good points (yellow hat) and bad points (black hat) about the year so far.

I look forward to reading your posts.

This year the theme is "let's create a better internet together". Please comment on our "digital footprint", "digital reputation", "bucket filling online" and/or "being an upstander". Check out the wellbeing links on the right hand side. By Ms Box :)

Book Boxes and Just Right Books

In 4A we only read just right books. Just right books are books that are perfect for us. We each have book boxes. Each of our book boxes, holds our just right books. By Aiden and Tom :)

Bucket Filling in 4A

Here Thomas explains about Bucket Filling: In 4A we've been writing down things about bucket filling and bucket dipping. Everybody has an invisible bucket filled with happiness. We can fill each other's bucket every day. Bucket filling is something that you can do by smiling and doing nice things for each other. Bucket dipping is when you say mean words or do something wrong to someone else like stopping other people from learning. I am a bucket filler by including everybody in my game. How are you a bucket filler?
